Arrangement
between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government
of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concerning the
transit of defence materials and personnel through the territory of the
Republic of Kazakhstan in connection with the participation of the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in international efforts to
stabilize and rebuild the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as «Kazakhstan») and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (hereinafter referred to as «the UK»), hereinafter jointly referred to as the Participants, taking into consideration provisions of resolutions 1368 (2001), 1373 (2001), 1386 (2001), 1444 (2002), 1510 (2003), 1536 (2004), 1589 (2005), 1623 (2005), 1659 (2006), 1707 (2006), 1776 (2007), 1833 (2008) and 2011 (2011) of the United Nations Security Council, the provisions of the Agreement between the Parties to the North Atlantic Treaty and the Other States participating in the Partnership for Peace regarding the Status of their Forces, done at Brussels on 19 June 1995 (hereinafter referred to as PfP Agreement) with the purpose of contributing to international efforts to stabilize and rebuild the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, have reached the following understandings:
Section 1
This Arrangement determines the procedure of transit of defence materials and personnel through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan by aircraft of the UK, engaged in international efforts to stabilize and rebuild the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Section 2
In this Arrangement the following terms and definitions have been used:
1) «transit» - a non-stop flight through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan by aircraft carrying defence materials and personnel on routes provided by Kazakhstan in accordance with the provision set out in this Arrangement.
2) «aircraft» - military - transport aircraft of the UK or aircraft hired by the UK with defence materials and/or personnel on board.
